Video painting : ウィキペディア英語版 | Video painting
Video painting is a form of video art presented via projectors, LCD or other flat panel display and wall-mounted in the same manner as traditional paintings. Video painting is a relatively new concept devised from the psychological and philosophical works of Hilary Lawson, who published his theory of closure,〔http://www.voltcafe.com/home/?p=2948〕 in his book Closure: A Short History of Everything (2001). Key conventions is that the camera is motionless on a fixed standpoint with no dialogue or sound. The process is uninhabited and pure with all content remaining natural to its original form, free from any constructed editing or manipulation of the image.〔http://aestheticamagazine.blogspot.com/2010/07/open-prize-for-video-painting-2010.html〕 There is no sound accompaniment. ==History== The video-painting movement began with Hilary Lawson’s theory of Closure (published 2001), in which he proposed that the world is open and that we close that openness with thought and language. He reinterpreted art as the attempt to avoid closure and approach openness.〔Lawson, H: ''Closure: A story of everything''. Routledge, 2001.〕 Moving away from his documentary film background, Lawson set about creating a narrative-less frame which he hoped would avoid closure. Working with a close friend and artist, Sanchita Islam, a small initial group was formed which also included artists William Raban, Isabelle Inghillieri, Nina Danino and Tina Keane. The group met regularly and discussed and shared their work.〔http://www.voltcafe.com/home/?p=2948〕
